Biography

French conductor, Hugo assisted Maestro Kazushi ONO in 2012 at the National Opera of Lyon (Macbeth). In May 2014 He assisted Maestro Daniele RUSTIONI during Simon Boccanegra, a production at the National Opera of Lyon. He returned in the 2015-16 season for the Michel TABACHNIK’s creation  «Benjamin, dernière nuit». He had the opportunity to conduct the opera’s orchestra for the recording of the disk : « Jour d’école ». In November he was Stefano MONTANARI’s assistant on  the Mozart’s Don Giovanni in Oman. In the season 2017-2018 he will be assistant of the new musical director of the Opera de Lyon Daniele RUSTIONI on production Attila and Don Carlos (G. Verdi). He is invited during the 2019-20 season at the Lyon opera house to conduct his first production « La Lune » Carl Orff.
 
Also in 2014, Hugo created a lyric festival which took place in july 2014, the festival consist of large scale concerts of oratorio, operetta, choral and symphonic works. The fifth edition of the festival took place in july 2018.
 
From 2009 to 2020, Hugo led the INSA University OSIU : Orchestre Symphonique INSA Universités.  With this accomplished orchestra, he has conducted Grieg «Peer Gynt», «piano concerto in Am»,  Prokofiev «Classical symphony», «Pierre et le Loup», Dvorak « 8th & 9th symphony», Beethoven «triple concerto», «5th symphony», Holst «The Planets», Mussorgsky «Pictures of an exhibition», Tchaikovsky «5th symphony, 1812, Romeo and juliet, casse noisette».
 
Hugo has an extensive repertoire and is musical director for several diverse ensembles in Lyon.  As musical director of the Cantrel de Lyon, he has conducted Mozart’s Requiem and Vespers, Haydn’s Stabat Mater and Bach Motets.  He also conducts a concert choir as part of the larger musical organization Concert Hostel Dieu, an early music ensemble directed by Frank-Emmanuel Comte.  Hugo is the musical director for Brusset Operetta Compagnie for which he has conducted several productions such as « La chauve-souris » (Strauss), « Victoria et son Hussard » (Abraham), « Les mousquetaires au couvent » (Varney), « Chanson Gitane » (Yvain), « Le pays du sourire », « Rose de Noël » (Léhar),  « la belle Hélène », « La vie parisienne » (Offenbach).
 
In addition to his numerous conducting accomplishments, Hugo continues to pursue a career as tenor and is in demand for solo work with several French ensembles.  He has most recently performed : Mozart’s Requiem, Haendel’s Messiah « A Child of our time » Tipett, and also for Offenbach’s Operetta « Orphée au enfers », « Belle Hélène », « Périchole »…
 
Training :
Hugo Peraldo began his musical training at a young age in a renowned music school in the Loire, France, where he studied voice, conducting and Boëm flûte.  After obtaining his high school diploma, he continued to study voice, harmony and analysis at the Conservatoire National de Région of Lyon.  Following an important encounter with well-know Luxembourgian conductor Pierre Cao, he decided to devote himself to orchestral conducting. Since 2012, he is currently taking conducting lessons with Kazushi Ono and more recently with Michel Tabachnik.
 In 2004, he pursued further training at the Conservatoire National of Chalon-sur-Saône where he studied conducting with Philippe Cambrelaing.  In 2006, he was selected to take part in the orchestral conducting course at the Conservatoire National of Dijon directed by Pierre Cao. Hugo has also had numerous opportunities to work with well-known conductors such as : Graziella Contrato, Jun Märkl, Ton Koopman, Ludwig Wicky, Leonard Slatkin. In June 2013 he was part of the International Institute for conductors in Bacau Romania.
